How in the world did I end up here, and am I ever going to make it back home? That is what I was thinking last summer as our plane landed in Havana, Cuba. As part of BCM's summer missions, I spent a week in Cuba. As a child and teenager I went on many mission trips. Although they all changed my life, not one of those came close to the experience I had internationally. Throughout the week we held kids' clubs, women's ministry, baseball camp, and went door to door to tell others about Jesus. As my week came to a close, I realized how wonderful and loving the people there were and how I wasn't really ready to leave and go back home, knowing that I would probably never see them again on this earth. At the beginning of the week, I was scared of never making it back to the U.S., but towards the end of the week I wanted to stay longer than we were supposed to. Participating in missions is a rewarding experience that compares to nothing else I've ever done in my whole life. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that you have planted seeds or helped harvest seeds in another's life. When I am serving others, it makes me see just how Jesus felt. After all, Jesus does say that "whatever you have done to the least of these, you have done to me".
