Trailer Park Ministry
For me, the Trailer Park Ministry that BCM offers is one of the great things about our organization; BCM has a passion for showing Christ’s love not only in other nations across the world, but also in local areas of service and ministry, and the Trailer Park Ministry is just that. For an hour one day a week, college students in BCM have the opportunity to interact with children in a local trailer park through Bible studies, crafts, snacks, and games. The blessing that I personally receive every week from just going far outweighs the hour taken out of my week. I feel like I give so little to these children and they give so much back to me. Most of these children come from less-than-ideal situations, and yet they have faith. They teach me, constantly, about the significance of depending on God and having pure joy despite the circumstances.
I am so excited about being able to lead the group of students that will go to the Trailer Park this year because I want everyone to experience what I experienced last year and receive the same blessing I received from working with these awesome kids, Ms. Christy, and other great college students. I’m really looking forward to coming back in August and seeing what God has done in the lives of the children and families at the Trailer Park and with Ms. Christy, the local missionary who has dedicated her life to the families at two of these local trailer parks. I’m just excited in general about August coming around and the new faces that will be at BCM; for everyone, new or old, I encourage you to get involved locally in some type of missions or service activity. You won’t regret it and you will be blessed more than you know!
